Position: Content Creator & Digital Marketing Intern
Hours : 35 hours/week
Wage: $22.80/hour
Contract: Tuesday, September 2nd to Wednesday December 31st 2025

We are looking for a passionate, creative, and organized intern to join our team and support content creation & influencer relations. This is a paid contract role, ideal for someone looking to gain real-world experience in digital storytelling, marketing, brand communication, and fundraising.
As a Content Creator & Digital Marketing Intern, you’ll help bring our campaigns to life across social media, newsletter, & website. You’ll gain hands-on experience working on creative projects and supporting real-time campaigns from strategy to reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Content Creation & Social Media
- Develop engaging, on-brand content for social platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn)
- Write copy for posts, captions, blog snippets, and e-newsletters
- Support the strategy, production, and editing of digital storytelling in written, visual, and audio formats
- Edit images, graphics, video, and audio using tools like Canva and Capcut
- Help maintain and update internal comms calendar
- Update website content as needed (Wordpress)
- Assist in digital community outreach & communication
- Track campaign progress and generate reports for the communications & fundraising team
- Support the communications efforts for PFC
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong writing and editing skills with attention to tone, grammar, and storytelling
- Familiarity with social media platforms and their best practices
- Experience creating content (graphic, video, or written), even for personal or school projects
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks
- Strong communication and professionalism in both writing and meetings
- A collaborative, curious mindset with a willingness to learn
- Passionate about community & food insecurity
Nice-to-Have
- Knowledge of influencer or media outreach strategies
- Experience using Canva, CapCut, Adobe Express, Wordpress or similar tools
- Familiarity with basic marketing or engagement metrics
- Understanding of food insecurity issues, food banking, community advocacy in Ottawa, or the non-profit sector
- Experience managing or contributing to a social media account
- Bilingual

Compensation
